Charlton have made some big changes this season with long term manager Alan Curbishley finally making way after 15 years for ex Palace manager Ian Dowie. They have made three significant signings wirh Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink coming from Boro and Djimi Traore arriving from Liverpool. Midfielder Andy Reid has also just arrived from Tottenham for £3m.

Betting wise, I think this is a much more difficult game for Charlton, new manager Ian Dowie will look to start this season better than they finished last; the South Londoners lost five of their last six fixtures in the Premierhsip. They do have some good attacking options up front,  with Hasselbaink and Darren Bent, but they haven't played a full league game with each other yet and may take some time to settle. West Ham do have a quality squad with plenty of talent. Marlon Harewood, Anton Ferdinand, Bobby Zamora, Benayoun, Reo Coker, Carlton Cole are just a few of the players in the side which will start on Saturday and I think this may well be too strong for a Charlton side who come into the game with their first new manager in fifteen years.
