Ok I thought i would ask the old heads and pros this
question....I mostly do lay bets. Do you think I
should therefore be betting early or later in order
to get the lower end of the odds?
I've been here a while. I reckon best to lay a team
just before they concede. Ideally within twenty
seconds of the goal going in to maximise profits.
yeah your really not helping lol
I know mate, just had a few beers, though my advice
gets no better when I'm sober. Think I should retire
gracefully.
haha well im stone ass sober and thats why i asked
if you ask such a silly queestion you can only
expect similar answers
you lay when yuo feel the odds are wrong. Often you
will find early prices to be better value but you
can't say which odds will lengthen and shorten
otherwise we'd all be doing it and then it wouldnt
exist....
Its not a stupid question in the slightest, i was
basically working upon the premise of do you length
for an odds on that the odds shorten further around
kick off or go up
depends on how much money has been matched as to the
amount of interest in the game
do you know how to bring up the summary of odds
taken and money staked at those odds?

OUTCOME |
It seemed inevitable that Pablo Aimar and Mista, two of
Claudio Ranieri's unwanted men, would have a big part to
play in the first game after his departure, and so it proved
as they helped give Valencia a much-needed win against Betis.
Neither of the pair, both of whom were vital to Valencia's
league and UEFA Cup double last season, were in favour when
the former Chelsea boss was in the Mestella hotseat, with
Aimar's lack of physical presence failing to win over the
Italian.
However, Ranieri's sacking on Friday opened the door for
former assistant coach Antonio Lopez to take charge and
Lopez had no hesitation in returning to the ways of
Ranieri's predecessor, Rafael Benitez, for the visit of
Betis.
Out went the Italian legion that Ranieri had brought with
him last summer, with Portuguese defender Marco Caneira his
only signing to keep his place. Lopez recalled Mista and
Aimar after being left out of Thursday's UEFA Cup exit to
Steaua Bucharest, which ultimately cost Ranieri his job.
The change was evident from the start, as gone was the
Valencia side that looked uncomfortable with the ball at its
feet and back was the team that last season had tackled hard
in midfield, defended resolutely, and produced sparks of
magic in attack.
Things got off to a bad start though, when Betis midfielder
Marcus Assuncao curled home one of his trademark free-kicks
from 25 yards in the 13th minute, which recalled goalkeeper
Santiago Canizares seemed slow to react to.
Valencia had an instant chance to level the scores after
referee Turienzio Alvarez controversially awarded them a
penalty for handball, but Brazilian left-back Fabio Aurelio,
who was otherwise impeccable throughout, fired weakly to
Antonio Doblas' right and the Betis keeper got down well to
save.
Aurelio atoned on the half-hour with a jinking run which
allowed Ruben Baraja to level the scores with a header from
12 yards.
It was a new-look Valencia, but had Assuncao's free-kick in
injury time gone in rather than hit the post, it could have
been another matter.
As it was, Valencia came out for the second half with the
bit between their teeth and Aurelio, Mista and Aimar were
involved in some of the best football of the half. Doblas
saved well from Francisco Rufete before blocking from
point-blank range from Aurelio just before the hour.
It was all Valencia and they finally got their reward on 72
minutes as Mista fired home the winning goal after once
again combining with Aimar.
The Argentinian playmaker exchanged passes with Aurelio and
Aimar's cushioned pass meant all Mista had to do was fire
home from eight yards.
Following the dark days of Ranieri the Mestalla Stadium
exploded with joy, and all of a sudden Valencia look a
different side.
