I'm predicting good things for Spurs this season,
although they got off to a bad start last Saturday.
Martin Jol will have been livid with his teams
display after they lost 2-0 away at Bolton on the
opening day. Jermain Defoe is struggling for this
game with a bruised foot. Neil Warnock will have
been relieved to get Liverpool out the way and his
team put in a battling performance to draw 1-1 with
the Reds. Rob Hulse grabbing the goal for the
Yorkshire club. Even though they had a great
result at Brammall Lane, Sheffield Utd now face a
stiff test in a trip to White Hart Lane to face top
6 side Spurs. This is really going to be a tough
game and I can see Tottenham really putting on a
good performance. After all, Martin Jol will want to
please the fans at least for their lacklustre
opening day performance. The good news for them is
that they will have Robbie Keane, Defoe and Berbatov
all fit to play, and they will cause Sheffield all
sorts of problems.
I'm sure Blades boss Neil Warnock will settle for
a point, and he'll probably set his team out very
defensively. However, if they go a goal down and
come out attacking, then that could be their
downfall, as Spurs have the quality to punish any
mistakes or lack of strength at the back.
Surprisingly, Skybet offer odds of 1/2 for a home
win, and I think this is a good bet. Spurs had a
good home record last year, and I think Sheffield
will get the majority of their points at home,
rather than on the road. Take the 1/2, Tottenham
should win this with no problems. |
