" Scotland are in the mire at the moment,
manger Bertie Vogts has left the team in disarray
and they are low in confidence. Former Rangers manager
Walter Smith and ex-Southampton boss Gordon Strachan
appear to be the favourites for the job. Unbelievably,
accoiding to FIFA rankings, Scotland are now listed
in 77th place below the likes of 'minnows' Congo,
Ghana and Angola. They are also rocked by the news
that Colin Cameron has joined strikers Steven Thompson
and Paul Dickov in withdrawing from the Scotland team
to face Sweden tonight. There are also doubts over
key midfielders Barry Ferguson and Gary Holt. Not
good times! The good news however is that Sweden coach
Lars Lagerback has rested a number of key players.
Henrik Larsson, who now plays for Barcelona having
formerly starred for Celtic, will miss the return
to Britain, while Arsenal midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg
and Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic have also
been left out of the squad.
For me, Scotland are a good bet for this match with
a handicap start. The Swedes are a great team, beating
Iceland 1-4 away in their last game, but the Scots
cannot get any worse can they? I think the players
will be playing with no pressure on their backs for
once as this is a friendly match. Caretaker manager
Tommy Burns will get his team up for this one and
will try to inspire his team to fight agasint an under
strength Swedish team. With striker Paul Dickov in
good form for his club, he could be the key here.

hes done well in the transfer market, hes brought in
Alonso, Sissoko, Agger, Kuyt, Reina who are all now
definite first team players and of the mistakes hes
made hes moved most of them on quickly (something GH
wouldnt do) and in most cases it hasnt csot the club
anything.
Hes also managed to move out almost all of GHs
mistakes who were all on big money.
You have to give the new signings time, but i have
to admit ive given up on Pennant but think the rest
are going to be good.football isnt that simple,
every Liverpool supporter that follows the team
knows what Sissoko provides, he isnt in there to
make killer passes but theres noone else in the
squad that can cover the ground he can and break up
the play like he does, hes without doubt in the top
3 most important players for the team.
I remember Vierra being very similar early in his
career his passing and touch didnt look great but it
improved, im sure Sissoko will improve too, hes
still very young.
Last night I saw the highlights and surely it was
one of the most disapponting matches that Anfield
has ever seen. It looked a nailed on 0-0 from 1st to
96th min. Not a single clear chance. Very very sad
way to play football. If something doesn't change,
in the next decade Utd will have more domestic
titles than us. At least In Europe our records are
safe for the next 50 years
