" Arsenal aim to continue their impressive
start to the season when they visit perennial Norwegian
champions Rosenborg in their second Champions League
Group E clash on Wednesday.
Rosenborg are on course to secure their 13th successive
domestic title although Ola By Riise's side were heavily
criticised earlier in the season after enduring an
inconsistent campaign. Rosenborg's domestic domination
ensures regular Champions League appearances but they
often fail to reach the group stages and last season
crashed out to Deportivo La Coruna in the final qualifying
round. Arsenal welcomed back Sol Campbell for Saturday's
hard-fought 1-0 win at mid-table Manchester City as
the Gunners stretched their unbeaten run in the Premiership
to 47 matches.
Arsene Wenger's side struggled to break down a resolute
PSV Eindhoven side before eventually clinching a 1-0
success in their first match but know that a win in
Norway will put them firmly in the driving seat in
a group that already looks to be one of the weakest
in the competition.
For me I think Rosenborg can get a draw, Arsenal
were disappointing in their previous CL game, and
I think with a home crowd behind them the Norwegians
can hold the Londoners - the Gooners are still not
proven in the CL away from Highbury. Go for Rosenborg

Liverpool fans should have known what was coming
when you won the CL and then brought in Crouch, it's
OK banging on about record point totals and the FA
Cup but they were a Gerrard wonderstrike away from
losing to West Ham and despite putting a decent
points total up in the PL it was built on not
conceding goals, marginal victories and some terrible
football to boot, all this despite bringing in 24
players and outspending everyone but Chelsea.
Benitez would have been better spending all that
money on fewer but better quality players imo.
Used 9/10 strikers at no little cost since he
arrived and they still don't score any more goals
than they did and his signings, in general, have
been awfulAgree with a lot of what you say to be
fair LTB, but I don't think any Liverpool fan would
quibble with the job Benitez had done prior to this
summer. Winning the Champions League in your first
season at a new club in a new country is no mean
feat, no matter how flukey anyone may write it off
as, and while we were on the verge of defeat in the
FA Cup Final, all that matters is that we won it.
We were, as you say, successful last season with a
good points total by virtue of a solid defence -
something that has completely gone to pot this
season. This summer we've gone backwards with some
seemingly awful purchases (Pennant, Gonzalez) but
like Houllier before him, he deserves time to get
things right. If we got rid of him now we'd be back
to square one with a new man who'd also want to give
the club a clear-out.
