Portsmouth are having a great start to the season
under the leadership of boss Harry Redknapp, and
they find themselves in fourth spot. This is mainly
due to their home form where they have won four out
of their five home games, losing only to Bolton 1-0.
They have won their last two home games, beating
Reading 3-1 and West Ham 2-0. Fulham are having
something of a revival, having started badly. They
are now unbeaten in their last four away trips,
drawing their last three on the road and also
beating Newcastle 2-1.
Even though Portsmouth have an extremely strong
home record, they should not underestimate Fulham as
they seem to be one of those teams that hang in
there and come away with point. In their last home
game against Everton, Fulham were under extreme
pressure for most of the game, and won the match
with a fluky deflected shot. On the other side,
Portsmouth have a great home record, but have only
beaten the lesser teams, Reading, West Ham and
Wigan. I think Fulham will put up a much stronger
challenge than these teams, as they are playing with
confidence at the moment. Only Man Utd and Chelsea
have scored more goals away from home and I'm
expecting Fulham to sneak a goal or two. That said,
I like the look of Fulham on the asian handicap.
Bet365 will offer a free £100 bet on this game and
at odds of Fulham +0.5 @1.95, I think this should be taken.
I'm also going on the correct score saver of a
Portsmouth win 2-1, as the crowd can play an
important part and Pompey could nick a goal right at
the finish. Go with Chris Coleman's Fulham on the
handicap though. |
