So far this season, Newcastle have won once and lost once. I'm not sure which way Newcastle are going to go this season, but I know they have to win games like these at home. They have already played once at home this season, beating Wigan 2-1. Fulham were hammered 5-1 by Man Utd on the opening day, but have since recovered somewhat by drawing 1-1 with Bolton and securing a tight 1-0 home win over Sheffield Utd.

I fancy Newcastle for a straight home win this game. They are going for their sixth straight home win in the Premiership and they will be pleased with the form of Shola Ameobi, who appears to be relishing his responsibility up front after the retirement of Alan  Shearer.  Fulham do appear to be on the upward curve, but we must note that Fulham took only seven points out of a possible 48 on the road last season and St James' Park will be pretty intimidating for them. Again I'm still not convinced with the Newcastle defence, and I would have thought Glenn Roeder would have made some significant defensive signings during the transfer window, but the Duff - Ameobi combination looks like it could be working for them this term.

 I still think Newcastle will just have too much going forward. I've noticed that Bet365 have 8/11 for a home win, and they will also give you a free £100 bet. These odds do offer some appeal and although this game is going to be tight, Fulham's appalling away record over the last year and Newcastle's first home win over Wigan is enough to make me go with the home side at a pretty decent price.
