MATCH ANALYSIS

Its been a good week for Newcastle boss Graeme Souness. The Toon had their best win of the season last week by beating Premiership leaders Chelsea in the FA Cup, in a game which finally saw Patrick Kluivert come back to his form of old, which is a great sign for the club. Apart from that win, Newcastle's home form has been pretty good recently, they have won two out of their last three games at home, and the return of Alan Shearer to the starting line up has made a huge difference to the team.

Bolton are on an amazing winning streak at the moment, looking for a sixth successive victory on the road in League and Cup. They're aiming to register four away wins on the trot for the first time ever in their Premiership history. One of the main reasons for this great run is their defence- They've not conceded in three League and Cup games, or 204 minutes (three hours 24 minutes) of Premiership football.

This should be a great game, both sides are playing with confidence and both will want to win. I think Newcastle may be too strong today however. Patrick Kluivert looks to be coming back to his best, and of course Alan Shearer is a threat.

Bolton have not conceded a goal in three games, but these were against teams such as Crystal Palace, and Blackburn, and I would expect Newcastle to be far stronger than these on their home patch. Newcastle are undefeated in five in all competitions, and I think they should have too much for Bolton today. I'm expecting Shearer and Kluivert to lead the Toon to a win today at 10/11 with Bluesq [£25 Free Bet]

10/11 ? I don't get it. Why so big?

I'm not complaining. I'm more than happy to hoover up the value, but I'm perplexed about the odds.
When did Spurs become a top side? Have I missed something?
I don't think there's any way any of the above would be 1.40 for this game, its just too much supremacy in a big cup tie. More realistic would be 1.50-1.55 barca, 1.65ish valencia, who knows what madrid (1.72ish maybe?). Having said that though 10/11 does look big, as the all known form point is valid.barca would be 1.3. they were 1.4 to beat bremen FFS. and Madrid would not be as big as 1.70, I assure you.

All of you are underestimating not only Spurs, but the Premiership, and unnecessarily bigging up La Liga. Two years ago the fifth placed English team won the CL, and last year the team that spent most of the season in fifth got to the CL final. Spurs are the fifth best team in England at the moment, you could argue even the fourth best since Arsenal packed the game in - they will not just lie down for Sevilla.
