"This is a crucial game in the this group
as Liverpool lie in second place on seven points,
while Monaco are one point behind in third place.
Monaco come into this game with the news that their
captain Julien Rodriguez will miss the match after
suffering an ankle injury, while Lucas Bernardi is
also a doubt. Liverpool will be boosted by the return
of skipper Steven Gerrard, but Milan Baros will be
out of action for at least three weeks with a hamstring
injury. This means that Liverpool are short of attacking
options, as Neil Mellor and Florent Sinama-Pongolle
are the only recognised available forwards, but midfielders
Harry Kewell and Luis Garcia could be asked to push
up an help out in attack.
Liverpool have already defeated Monaco 2-0 on the
opening day of Champions League games, and this should
give them good confidence coming into this match.
In their last round of matches Liverpool had a great
win 1-0 away in Deportivo, while Monaco lost 1-0 in
a tight game against Olympiakos. The Reds do have
some big problems up front in this match. They are
without Milan Baros and he is their main striker.
Domestically, Liverpool have struggled away from Anfield
and I'm expecting them to have a difficult game against
the French team, who have to win to keep in touch
with the leaders. As a result of this, Im going for
a draw
here at 9/4 with Coral [£10
Free Bet] This is a difficult game to
predict, but both teams are out of form. Monaco have
not won at home in the French league for four games,
and were hammered 1-3 in their last home game. Liverpool
have little attacking options, but the return of Steven
Gerrard in midfield should inspire them. Get on a
draw here 1-1! "
it's the 2nd european cup competition after the
champions league. hardly mickey mouse.
and when we were getting to semi finals and quarter
finals, before the burra were even in europe, they
were the ones calling them pub sides that we were
playing. have never called them pub sides. I agree
its europes second tier competition but still i for
one would like to be competing in. I take your point
that you as an individual may not have taken the
mick but the amount of discussion and arguments i
had with geordies on here last year regarding the
competition is countless. They took the mick out of
our attendances and you are now experiencing the
same problems in the competition yourselves!!Celtic
man but I opften read with interest the threads
about the rivalry within London and that of the East
coast and ofcourse the Liverpool/ Manchester
rivalry. I am sure you agree most of it is as daft
as the Celtic/ Rangers nonsense but I have to say
you lot are WAY more childish. Atleast we really DO
hate each other.
I was reading the thread about the Chelsea away
support this morning and it just makes me laugh that
Chelsea are even MENTIONED in the same breath as
Arsenal and even Spurs. For me they are no more than
on a par with the Fulhams of this world, difference
being, for NOW, money makes them a very goos
football team but purely in terms of history and
FANBASE they just ain't there, are they?
I'd be interested to know your opinion in Englands
GREAT football sides; Clubs with history and fanbase,
teams with potential, teams who could pack out
Wembley on their own. Heres mine
