Its been a superb start for Manchester United
this year. They have won their first three games
quite convincingly, it must be said against the
lesser teams of Fulham, Charlton and Watford,
scoring a massive ten goals. Tottenham have had a
disappointing start to the season, losing two out of
their first three games. They were suprisingly
beaten 2-0 by Everton in their last match at home.
Of course the big talk for this game will be Man
Utd midfielder Michael Carrick, who transferred to
the Red Devils from Spurs in the summer for £13m.
Utd striker Alan Smith also makes a comeback, only
eight months after breaking his leg.
Even though Utd have started well, they haven't
really faced a top 6 team as of yet, and Tottenham
are definitely one of those. Martin Jol will have
blasted his players for their performance last time
around against Everton and I'm sure they will put up
a better performance this time around, although we
must note they haven't beaten Man Utd at Old
Trafford for 17 years!
It seems that Tottenham are still finding their
feet at the start of the new Premiership season, and
although they have a quality forward line of Defoe,
Keane and Berbatov, Utd should have too much for
them today. We must also say that the front three
are under performing, having only scored twice in
their first three games of the season.
The odds of 1/2 for a home win are pretty
attractive - Bet365 will offer new users a free £100
bet, so you a home win would earn you a free £150!
Alex Ferguson will be particularly impressed by the
play of Ryan Giggs so far, and he looks back to his
form of old. Spurs will put up a tough challenge,
but I think Utd should just do enough to secure the
three points. Take Utd @ 1/2 |
