It seemed Man Utd could do no wrong after
hammering Bolton away 4-0, but then they went and
lost 1-0 away in Denmark against FC Copenhagen in
the league, and will be without Solskjaer for a few
weeks with a leg problem. Apart from that midweek
mishap in the Champions League, Man Utd have won
their last four home games in the Premiership, and
have played some excellent football. In that time
they have scored 11 goals and conceded only once.
Portsmouth are also not far behind, finding
themselves in fourth place in the Premiership,
however they are a little inconsistent at the
moment, having won their last game at home against
Reading 3-1, but have los their last two away trips
at Chelsea and Tottenham.
Man Utd are a very short priced 2/7 to win at
home. That is way too short a price to bet on a home
team no matter who they are, and Im looking for
other markets for our bet. One thing that strikes me
is the goals scored by each of these teams.
Amazingly, Portsmouth have scored seven goals in
their last four away trips, while Man Utd are quite
capable of scoring a bagful with Rooney and Saha up
front.
think Pompey will come out attacking and
may well find the net and cause Utd some problems at
the back.
Betfred offer a free £100 bet on this game and offer
2/1 for there to be 4+ goals. This is not a
bad bet and I think this offer much more value than
simply lumping on Utd, because Pompey are an
attacking threat going forward and I wouldnt be
surprised if they scored a goal or two. |
