Well, this is obviously the biggest game of this
weekends fixture list. Both these teams will be
confident coming into this game as they did well in
the Champions League midweek. Man Utd beat FC
Copenhagen 3-0 at home while Liverpool travelled to
Bordeaux and secured a great 1-0 away win.
Domestically, Man Utd are playing very well at the
moment, and they will be boosted by the performance
of Paul Scholes on Tuesday. The Red Devils lie top
of the league, winning four of their last six games.
At home, their only blimp came after losing to
Arsenal 1-0.
Liverpool are having a disappointing season so
far and I'm waiting for them to really find their
form. They have only won twice out of their
last six games, and have lost their last three away
trips against Bolton, Everton and Chelsea, without
scoring a single goal. Of course this is a derby
match between two big rivals, but these two teams
are showing different form coming into this game.
Man Utd are looking very dangerous going forward,
have some great players back to their best in
midfield (Ronaldo, Giggs, Scholes) and defensively
they look pretty solid. Liverpool on the other hand
are struggling to score many goals, and their once
solid defence is now looking pretty brittle, which
is surprising. They will have Gerrard back for this
game, but at the minute I think Utd are playing the
much better football. There are some decent odds
around for a home win and I think a Man
Utd home win @ 8/11 with Betfred, who are offering
up to a free £100 on this game, is not a bad
price. When we think of the firepower up front
for Utd, Rooney, Saha, Solskjaer, they are looking
far more dangerous than Liverpool. Get on Utd. |
