Well all I can talk about coming into this game
was Ben Thatcher's 30yrd sprint to elbow Portsmouth
midfielder Pedro Mendes midweek. Absolute disgrace.
That really sums up City's start to the Premiership
season as they were outclassed by Chelsea 3-0 on the
opening day, and drew with Bolton 0-0 midweek. In
fact, they were pretty poor going forward, limited
only to a few Joey Barton shots from midfield. The
Gunners have had a pretty busy start to the season,
qualifying for the Champions League last Wednesday
after a 2-1 home win over Dinamo Zagreb. In their
first game they could only draw 1-1 with Aston
Villa. Both these teams have had a sluggish start
to the season, however its only a matter of time
before Thierry Henry wakes up from his slumber and
starts performing on the pitch. Robin Van Persie was
also a threat. Man City have not scored a goal all
season so far, and its difficult to see where a goal
could come from against a workmanlike Arsenal
defence. Stuart Pearce, however will know that his
team must get something from this game, otherwise
the fans will start to turn on the players.
I feel 8/11 is a little too short to lump on the
Gunners so early in the season, and the London club
have not really impressed so far. Due to this, I'm
looking to the goalscorer markets - Thierry Henry
has not done anything as of yet and is surely due a
goal @ evens to score anytime. Instead, however I'm
going for Robin Van Persie @ 15/8 to score anytime,
with Coral to come good today. He impressed midweek
and as long as he starts, he should be in with a
good shout. Get on the Dutchman |
