" Well, this is the crunch game of Group D. Lyon lie top with ten points from four games played, while Man Utd are in second place with eight points. Both teams are curently unbeaten in the group - Lyon defeated Fenerbache 4-2 at home in their last game while Man Utd destroyed Sparta 4-1.

There is not much between these two teams at the moment. Lyon are playing extremely well, and are unbeaten in fifteen games in the French First division and conceding only five goals. Man Utd have finally started to find some form, comfortably beating Charlton at home 2-0 last week and climbing the Premiership table.

It seems to me that Man Utd do turn it on when it comes to home games in the CL - so far they have defeated Fenerbache 6-2 and Sparta 4-1 at Old Trafford, but Olympique Lyon will pose a much tougher test. I think they will be up for it though. With strikers such as van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney and Alan Smith on the bench they should simply have too much firepower. Even though Lyon are unbeaten I'm sure they would not have come up against such quality as Utd before.
