Both these teams come into this game on the back
of some good results. As you would expect, Liverpool
have an excellent home record, beating Tottenham,
Newcastle and West Ham in their last three games at
Anfield, scoring seven goals and conceding only
once. They did lose their last game away at Bolton
2-0 however. Blackburn themselves are on a nice run,
winning their last three games, beating Wigan,
Middlesbrough and Man City. Even though both these
teams are on nice runs, it has to be said that at
home Liverpool have faced the more difficult
teams and have come through and beaten them, while
Blackburn have defeated teams who are towards the
bottom of the league. I am expecting Liverpool to
win this one, but at best priced odds of 1/2 with
Bluesq for a home win, I am looking for a little
more value.
It must be noted that Liverpool striker
Dirk Kuyt is injured for this game, and while Peter
Crouch did not impress midweek for England, all the
attention must now be on Craig Bellamy up front for
the Reds. Bellamy has struggled so far this season
in front of goal, but he finally scored for Wales
midweek against Cyprus, and he did play extremely
well. Of course, he will also be facing his former
team and former international boss, which I'm sure
will be an added incentive to do well. His goal will have finally lifted a lot of
pressure off his shoulders and he should be full of
confidence now and wil be eager to break his Anfield
duck. Keep an eye on the team news for this one, but
Bellamy should start on his own up front. Skybet are
offering a free £20 bet on this game and with
Bellamy a best priced 11/8 anytime goalscorer, this
should be snapped up. |
