" This is a huge game for Liverpool -If
they are to catch the leaders and seriously enter
the title race they need to beat Chelsea today. They
come into this match in excellent form, having won
three games in a row, but they will face a Chelsea
team who have now gone ten games without a loss, and
won a hard fought game at Portsmouth 2-0 midweek.
Liverpool boss rested key players in their last game,
a 1-0 home win over Southampton, and there should
be some fit and fresh faces in the starting lineup
against Chelsea. Milan Baros will return to the starting
line up, and together with Steven Gerrard in midfield,
they should cause Chelsea whole host of problems.
Chelsea have scored a bagful of goals away from home
and they have scored twelve in their last four away
trips. However, the Liverpool defence is much sturdier
at his moment, and they concede less than a goal a
game. At the moment, I feel that Milan Baros, Gerrard
and Riise down the left can cause any team damage
as they are really playing out of their skins. There
is great value in Liverpool today, but I'm going on
Liverpool

alot of problems midweek, and it wasnt until the 79th
minute that the Blues finally broke the deadlock.
I think Liverpool, with Baros and Gerrard, should
be able to get at the Chelsea back four, and with
a healthy home record to back them up, the Reds can
get a draw at least here today. Get On! "
City cannot rely on good away results like Villa
all season and results like drawing at home versus
Pompey, Newcastle and Sheff Utd means that there is
big pressure on them to improve home form. I back
them to crack under this pressure.
Boothroyd will also have Watford up for this,
building on a hard fought point against Sheffiled
Utd on Monday. It sounds like you're missing the
point, I presume Francis was attempting to highlight
how tight the division is after United and Chelsea.
Considering that City have been slated by all and
sundry this season, I think it's fair comment to
point out that we're still only five points off
third place - and only now are we coming into some
kind of form.
I've said all along that City can finish in the top
eight by virtue of the fact that the Premiership is
so poor. Let me remind everyone that NEWCASTLE
finished 7th last season. I've been saying all
season that I've yet to see a better team than City
outside the big four. In my opinion, Sheffield
United are the best team to visit Eastlands this
season (Arsenal aside, of course). Them and
Portsmouth are the only two teams that were capable
of stringing four or five passes together without
giving it us back.
