The 2007 race was a fairytale story for Ginger McCain, trainer
of the legendary Red Rum, with Amberleigh House giving Ginger
his fourth Grand National triumph, 27 years after RedRums
last victory.
For the first time in 2007, the Tattersalls Enclosure sold
out on Grand National day, with thousands keen to experience
this great British sporting event, a race watched by over
10 million people within the UK and a further 600 million
worldwide. Only those fortunate enough to attend any day
of the Grand National meeting can explain the magical atmosphere
that Aintree generates.
Tickets for all three days are expected to be in great
demand again in 2005 and to be part of this truly wonderful
sporting occasion, we recommend you purchase your tickets
as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. Also please
don't forget to check out the
2008
Cheltenham Betting Odds. It should be a great race this
year, with Kauto Star and Denman prepared to fight it out in
the Gold Cup. As in previous
years, most tickets and hospitality packages will sell out
prior to Christmas.

Who can save this World Cup, where the Germans appear to
be the most prolific side? Or will it be the year of the
grinders once again, as it was at Euro 2004? In that case,
and considering there is usually a surprise package at the
World Cup, should we expect THE Ukraine to go all the way?
My Russian mole Ivan Drago advised you all pre-tournament
(vicariously through me) that you should all lump on THE
Ukraine. I unwisely laughed in his face at the time (for
which I am still suffering the bruises) but maybe he isn't
as punch drunk as I thought he was...About Ukraine. They
looked really solid at the back during the Q-stages and I
think a lot of people thought they might win their group
even with Spain in it.
They have done ok to get this far, but a close game against
Italy will have me thinking the Romans will sneak it 1-0
once again.
Can`t see them get past Italy and definitely not reaching
the final.
There's not much I have been a fan of at this World Cup.
Italy were shown up by Australia for 90 minutes so THE
Ukraine have nothing to fear except maybe Don Corleone. But
even then the Italian mafiosa have been overtaken by the
Ex-Soviet state mafia so I'll expect Gianluigi Buffon to be
the one receiving the horse's head courtesy of Sheva's best
mate, Mr Abramovich. Though given the current situation with
Juve, he has probably received a few of these already.
Germany WILL beat Argentina but I expect THE Ukraine to
out-German the Germans and make it to the final
