Everton will fly home from Dallas later today having
undergone a rigorous double training session yesterday.
Portuguese defender Nuno Valente began work at Bellefield on
Monday, and Moyes believes Andy van der Meyde - who was
forced to miss the tour to America with a groin injury -
will also resume training in the near future.
"I haven't heard much from back home, but I think Andy will
be fine," said the manager.
Delron Buckley yesterday left Everton's training camp in
Dallas having completed a 16-day trial.
The South African international was initially taken for a
week but that was extended to include the tour to the United
States with Moyes keen to further assess the Borussia
Dortmund forward.
Buckley appeared in Everton's last four friendlies and made
a positive impression during training but is now back in
Germany to consider his options, with Bolton Wanderers and
Charlton Athletic monitoring developments.
Moyes will now spend the next few days contemplating whether
to follow up his initial interest by taking Buckley on a
season-long loan, although other alternatives are available
to the Everton manager.I've learned something this week:
always pay attention to the details.
I'm stuck in Zurich at the mo and a friend asked if I wanted
to go along and watch Grasshoppers, so I said yes without
asking who against. Got to watch the RS yesterday. Not too
chuffed when I found out but it was great. Obviously it

Reina, Riise, Hyypia, Traore, Kromkamp, Carragher, Gerrard,
Pennant, Bellamy and Crouch. Zenden was hilarious as
midfield general, and Benitez having to take Bellamy off
after he'd left his foot in on the keeper was encouraging
for the season ahead. A little nibble of the 7s available on
Zurich on Monday paid for the beers too.
Now the 2nd bit: I sorted my German brother-in-law for some
World Cup tickets so he's arranged something for me in
return. He's got VIP tickets for a friendly at his local
club Mainz this Friday. Just found out who we'll be
watching: the RS again! Doh! After watching a mid table
Swiss team give them the runaround yesterday I'm perversely
looking forward to it.
"We had an agreement with Dortmund that Delron would go back
a day early and we will now have a look at it," said Moyes.
"We are quite interested in what we have seen. We just need
to consider if it is something we want at this time."
Meanwhile, Phil Neville insists the thought of becoming
captain of Everton hasn't even crossed his mind.
Neville wore the armband for the friendly against Club
America on Saturday. But he said: "David Weir is the club
captain and he will always be the captain whilst he is
here."
