'The're about as organised as a packet of crisps.' The
boys at Blue Kipper decided to give it ago anyway.
What we have found is nothing short of astounding. It has
quality written all over it. There are daily interviews with
players, which we expected, but also an insight into the
club we didn't think existed. Interviews with backroom
staff, fitness coaches, supporters, the Chief Executive, I
think he's been good for us. He's never gonna set the world
on fire and is limited ability-wise, but he digs in and
always gives his all to the cause. I've never seen over-awed
by anyone in the Prem and you will certainly never see him
shy away from a tackle. I'd say he'd be a top Championship
player. I fully expect him to go, as himself and McCarthy
are very closethe club doctor and the grounds man. Great
stuff. Keith Wyness has said he wanted more communication
with the fans. He has a great tool to do just that with
evertontv.
There is also interviews with lesser known people at the
club. Reserve team manager Andy Holden and Academy director,
Ray Hall. All good stuff. Simic is Croatia's all-time record
caps holder and caught the eye during this summer's World
Cup finals but was one of the players to see red in the
stormy encounter with Australia in Stuttgart.
Simic, who is contracted to Milan until 2009, has been the
subject of two failed bids by Everton boss David Moyes in
the past but could now be ready to try his luck in another
country.
"There are two interested clubs. One of them is Everton," he
said.
"But everything is on stand-by, although I spoke to [Milan
general sports director] Ariedo Brada about this interest."
The Rossoneri have been granted an entry route into the
Champions League following an appeal against their
suspension, and the lighter punishment could lead to the
likes of Simic ultimately agreeing to remain in Milan.
As well as some insight into the history of the club, with
interviews with past legends like Sharp, Ratcliffe and
others.
When it was announced that the pre-season games on the USA
tour would be broadcast live at midnight in the UK, we had a
different attitude towards it. Staying up till the early
hours to watch a friendly isn't the most glamorous think to
do, especially when you watch a a match that is streamed.
You usually get terrible pictures and loose transmission
half way through. Not so with evertontv.
The pictures were top quality. Coverage of the match was
excellent. The game itself after a decent first half for
Everton, faded away. evertontv asked fans watching around
the world were encouraged to e-mail evertontv and within
minutes messages were being read out live on the internet.
Comments from as far apart as Croxteth, Canada, Singapore,
Aintree and Japan. Most comments were about drinking ice
cold beer while watching the match. Darren Griffiths and his
team at evertontv deserve a pat on the back for a job well
done.
