Nelson Cuevas scored in the 90th minute to tie it at 1, and Club America went on to beat Everton 5-4 in a penalty shootout in a soccer friendly on Saturday.
Carlos Infante, Matias Vuoso, Diego Cervantes, Salvador Cabanas and Juan Carlos Mosqueda each converted penalty kicks for Club America while Everton's Alan Stubbs hit the crossbar in the third round. Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that goalkeeper Richard Wright still has a future at Goodison.
The former Arsenal and Ipswich shot-stopper has repeatedly been linked with a move away from the Toffees, and despite being in the final year of his contract, could still stay on Merseyside. The Everton right-back has been suffering from illness throughout the tour to the United States, with the club's medical staff still ascertaining the exact cause of the problem.Although he played 86 minutes against Columbus Crew last Wednesday, Hibbert sat out the defeat at Celtic three days beforehand and the friendly with Club America here in Dallas at the weekend.
And Everton manager Moyes has admitted his growing concern over the 25-year-old with his team due to kick-off their season at home to Watford on August 19.
"He is not too good," said Moyes. "We've hardly seen him since we've been out here and has been in his bed for the past three or four days with sickness and has been really under the weather.
"He's had a stop-start pre-season and has missed an awful lot of training. He played a couple of games but this has set him back a bit.I don't know how long this is going to keep him out."With Hibbert now facing a race against time to reach match fitness for the start of the campaign, Moyes may be forced to look at alternatives to temporarily fill the right-back berth. I would not say that we are desperately short at right-back because we have Phil Neville and Sandro Pistone who can play there," he added. "But I just hope that Hibbo can get sorted and that he will be better soon.
"He's not been good and that's a worry." Moyes said: "I have seen signs from Richard in training that have been very good and he realises there is competition and he has to prove that he can do it again.
"He is training really well and if Tim Howard is not fully adjusted we know he is there.
"He is a super professional, and is an excellent trainer. You could never fault him on that score. We will wait to see how he responds.
"I think the goalkeeping situation is pretty good, and we need to try and keep pushing the young ones as well. We shouldn't forget about them. We don't want to stop their progression.
"Maybe at a different time we will look at loaning one of them out to a good quality side."

So tricky dickie going nowhere just yet
The match against Club America, the CONCACAF Champions Cup winner, was part of a two-game tour for Everton in the United States that included a 1-1 draw against the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer on Wednesday.
Cuevas dribbled past two Everton defenders and fired a left-footed shot into the center of the net.
Mikel Arteta scored off a free kick in the fourth minute to give Everton of the English Premier League a 1-0 lead
