This looks like being the game of the weekend, as
a confident Aston Villa side travel to the Champions
Chelsea. Martin O'Neil has done wonders with his
team and they are playing some good football. The
Villa have yet to lose this season, and they are in
fifth place in the league. They have drawn all of
their three away trips. Chelsea have won five of
their opening six games, and have won their last
four. They have conceded only three goals all
season, although John Terry is a doubt for this game
with a back injury. They impressed midweek in the
Champions League, winning 3-1 away in Sofia. Didier
Drogba scored a superb hatrick.
This is going to be an interesting game. Martin
O'Neil travels to Chelsea with his Villa team for
the first time, and I'm sure he will have laid out
some plans to cope with Chelsea's star studded
strike force. There are odds of 11/1 for an away win
and these are ridiculous for a team which is
unbeaten so far this season. The loss of Terry at
the back is a pretty big blow to the Blues, as Villa
have managed to score in five of their six games
this season. At odds of 2/9, banking on a Chelsea
home win is not much value at all.
Instead, I'm going for the Villa on the asian
handicap. They have a couple of youngsters who can
cause the Chelsea back four a few problems,
especially Gabriel Agbonlahor and Luke Moore, who
have both been particularly impressive recently.
Bet365 are offering a free £100 bet on this game,
and they are offering Aston Villa +1.5 @ 1.85,
which I think is a more realistic bet. Martin O'Neil
is a shrewd character and wears his heart on his
sleeve, and I'm sure his team can ruffle a few
feathers today - they wont want to let him down. I
think Chelsea will probably win by the odd goal, but
this will be enough to see our bet a winner! |
