"Celtic have had a disastrous CL qualifying
campaign, after losing their opening match at Parkhead
to Barcelona, and despite some good recent results
they need a win to secure a UEFA Cup spot. They are
only one point ahead of FC Shakhtar Donetsk, who host
the already-qualified Barcelona. Celtic boss
Martin O'Neill has a few injury worries and he will
definitely be without Stephen Pearson who has a groin
injury. Stilian Petrov (ankle) did not train on Monday,
while Didier Agathe did train but is struggling with
a groin problem.
AC Milan are already assured of a place in the last
16 of the Champions League. They are leading in Group
F with 12 points from five matches and cannot be overhauled
by either Shakhtar Donetsk or Celtic. They will, however,
be without some key players for this game - Jaap Stam
(ankle), Filippo Inzaghi (ankle), and Jon Dahl Tomasson
(back) are all out. osman gone backwards under
moyes? has he become slower , weaker ? cahil gone
backwards? 7 goals and leading goalscorer from
midfield ? these players were not touched by
premiership managers hes given them the chance . we
would receive far more than we have layed out on
them. the problems for me start at chairman level ,
all managers buy bad players , but other clubs can
get on with it , we can't , the very fact he had to
sell kilbane last day and not be able to spend the
money as the bank claimed it is for me why we are
struggling now . we couldn't raise 1.5 million for
joey barton , we tried to sell naysmith , vdm ,
carsley and kilbane but nonethe less we finished on
transfer deadline one player short when before killa
left hed identified 2 more to be added to the squad.
again , it's not easy , 6th or above , fa cup and
keep him , if not hes had 5 years . The really
worrying thing to me about Moyes is that he seems to
be destroying what good players we have. Beattie has
been hopeless, Johnson brilliant when he came and
now doing nothing, Cahill initially good though
patchy now and some fans were even calling for him
to go, Davies nothing like as good as he was at
Tottenham, Van De Meyde done nothing here, Osman
hasnt fulfilled his promise and so on. Will Lescott
be next?
This is a tough game for Celtic tonight. AC Milan
will want to finish top of the group ahead of Barcelona
and even though they are without some star strikers,Everton's
127th Annual General meeting has taken place with
shareholders informed of plans to investigate the
possibility of relocating from Goodison Park to a
new purpose built stadium in Kirkby.
The Blues' Chief Executive told the AGM: "I accept
that it is both inevitable and understandable that
the question of our possible relocation to a site in
Kirkby will be raised at some point this evening.
"I hope you will respect the fact that we are
strictly limited in what we can say with regard to
this possible project. However, what I can tell you
is that a formal announcement will be made tomorrow
which will confirm that, in conjunction with
Knowsley Borough Council and Tesco, we are
investigating the possibility of a major
regeneration initiative in Kirkby, one which might
provide us with a new home. I must stress that this
does not, in any way, constitute a final decision on
the location of any new stadium for the Club. I felt
it was important that you - the Club's shareholders
- were the first people to hear this news.
"Because of the various confidentiality clauses
which are in place, we will be unable to make
further comment on this subject during the remainder
of this meeting - I hope you will both understand
and respect that."
I still expect them to be a handful for the Scottish
team. AC Milan only need a point to finish as winners
of Group F, and they should have enough tonight. The
Italian team know how to defend and with Andriy Shevchenko
they are always a threat - Go for a draw
@ 12/5 with Coral [£10

but Milan know how to defend and have the strength
in attack if need be. Get on the stalemate! "
