"This is another huge game in the Champions
League, and this is a big match for Barcelona at home.
Milan currently lie top of Group F with nine points
after an impressive 1-0 win over Barcelona at home,
and so the Spanish team really need something from
this match.
Domestically, Barcelona are in great form, lying
top of La Liga, and they are unbeaten so far this
season, winning seven of their nine games played.
They have won all their home games, scoring ten goals
in the process and only conceding one goal. Milan
lie in second place in the Italian league, behind
Juventus, and their away record is superb, winning
four out of four games away, scoring five and only
conceding one goal.
This is such a tight game to call - AC Milan are
almost guaranteed a place in the next round, while
Barcelona really need to win this match. If I was
pushed I would go with a tight Barcelona home win,
as they need to win this match and will play Eto,
Larsson and Ronaldinho up front. However, the stand
out bet for me is the UNDER
2.5 goals at 1.7 with Betfair [£20
Free Bet] - Barcelona have only conceded
one goal at home all season domestically, while AC
Milan have only conceded one goal away. The Italian
team know how to play away from home, winning their
last CL game 0-1 in Shaktar ,and will be extremely
tight at the back. It may take Barcelona time to break
them down and I cant see there being a goal fest in
this one. Get on the unders! "A wins a
win and with Johnson in the side anything can happen
at any time, gets defenders on the back foot.
Lescott looked iffy again but given he was playing
out of position I can forgive him. Howard did well,
right place right time but agreed could have come
out on a couple of occasions. Neither Spud and
Cahill looked on the ball, I've been worried about
Cahill for some time. Carsley did his job, Davies ok
as he has been all pre season.Beattie nearly scored,
couldn't have been any closer and grafted but not
convincing. Stubbsy shows the maturity and played a
blinder, Joey's pace gets him out of a hole but
Lescott & Yobo don't look ready to be a pair any
time soon. Neville was ok as a stand in full back
and Valente was ok.Need to be better to get anything
from Ewood & W H Lane.6/10. Thought Watford were ok,
big and hard working, could have scored but fluffed
it, probably good enough to stop up ? which indie
club m&p, not the krazy house? got to be the blue
angel or le bateau (assuming the latter's still
going). showing my age, macmillans was the place to
be til it shut down, then the mardi. i can't get in
the blue angel now unless i'm with the missus, and
the last time i was in the krazy house (trying to
show my mates from university a good night) we
seemed to be stuck on the thrash metal floor for too
long a time.
biggest away day for me this year is sheff united.
lived there for 3 years while i was at university,
great place. simply got to have a night at the
pooches followed by the leadmill! After last seasons
disappointment I have no expectations for this
season. Yesterday was always going to be difficult
because for Watford being their first game was going
to be like a cup tie. Much easier to have played
them in the middle of Feb when they are down and
out. To win was important and many other clubs would
have been happy to get 3 points.
However, we were completely overrun in midfield and
our 4 midfielders were poor.
