Its been a great start to the Premiership for
Aston Villa. They grabbed a 1-1 draw in their
opening game at Arsenal and came from behind to beat
Reading 2-1 at home last Wednesday. Now they have
another home game against Newcastle, who played a
UEFA cup qualifying tie on Thursday and have
doubts over the fitness of Shola Ameobi up front. In
their opening game they beat Wigan 2-1 at home.
Well, its been a fairytale start for Martin O'Neil,
and what better way to follow a good home win than
another match at Villa Park? There seems to be a re
found confidence amongst the players and fans -
there were 37,000 fans there last Wednesday, and it
seems O'Neil has developed the confidence of the
side. They are playing well - Gavin Mccann is very
effective in midfield breaking up attacks and they
have plenty of good youngsters in Steven Davis and
Gareth Barry in midfield, and Luke Moore up front.
Newcastle should not be underestimated either, they
have the quality of Duff in midfield, but i'm not
sure about how effective they will be going forward.
Villa have a back four which has been together a few
years now, and are playing quite solidly. Newcastle
have Titus Bramble - enough said. The Toon do have
the quality to find the net, however the momentum is
now fully with Aston Villa and I can see them edging
out Newcastle in tight contest. Paddy offer odds of
7/5 for a home win, plus a
free £10 bet, and this
seems very appealing. Take your free bet and go for
the home win at some attractive odds. |
